everyone (who isn't already a facebook friend of mine and has seen it there), meet Macintosh Shapiro. he goes by Mac. in the video, he's the one called Dev (his breeder given name), crawling back into the breeder puppy travel bag.

i've been working out and getting back in shape since early july. so far i've dropped from 180ish to 168 or so, and i'd like to lose 3-8 more in the next month before my wedding, which would put me around 160-165. today i did 5 miles on the elliptical in 41-42 mins, including 3 miles in under 24.
the phils need to win at least 3 of 4 from the brewers, or it's time to start playing the backups.
i'm going to the TOC next week as a recruiter for the first time ever.
i've been engaged for a year and a half as of yesterday, which is about 5 months longer than laurie i were dating before we were engaged. i'm getting married in 31 days. and going to st. lucia in 33 days.
wedding planning is serious business. figuring out the seating charts is an ordeal. we have appointments with almost every one of our major vendors in the next 2 weeks, all of whom are located in delaware (or elkton maryland). none of which are on the same day. that's gonna be a lot of driving.
i still really like my job and i'm totally enjoying what i'm doing right now. after about 5 1/2 years with the same laptop, i was finally given a new lenovo last week. it has a fingerprint scanner and if i want to log in using my fingerprint instead of typing my password, i can do that. though the scanner is located such that you have to have the laptop open to access it, so it's kind of wasted when the laptop is docked at my desk and the lid is closed, as it usually as. i still "enrolled my fingerprints" anyway so i can use it and feel futuristic.
we're gonna give the redcoat another shot on the sep 27-28 weekend since we were hurricaned out last weekend.
both of my fantasy teams won last week. i'm really glad i drafted randy moss instead of tom brady with my first round pick in my money league. hopefully matt cassel's ineptness doesn't leave me wishing i'd have gone with addai by the end of the year. in my less important league, i just lost marques colston...but i had david patten on my bench, so that shouldn't hurt me too badly.
i'm really worried that obama isn't going to win this election and sarah palin will be 1 72-year old dude with a sketchy health history heart attack/whatever away from being our president.
i guess that's all i got. |

First off, I find it kind of funny that the only thing I seem to post about regularly is the one thing that nobody other than me possibly gives 2 shits about, that being my fantasy football teams. But hey, nobody is forcing you to read this.

| | Forever the Sickest Kids - Catastrophe | ] | So Laurie and I saw Dark Knight yesterday and then did dinner at P.F. Changs. I really, really enjoyed the movie (and as I've pondered it throughout the last day or so, I think I'm appreciating it even more in hindsight).
So after the movie, we had a nice dinner. Much better than our first experience at the new Plymouth Meeting P.F. Changs when the place had only been open for a few weeks. Though the batshit crazy waitress we had the first time was still there and actually dropped off drinks from the bar for us at one point, and even said she remembered us. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Anyways, it was a great meal and it was topped off by 2 fortunes that were not that funny on their own, but do very well in conjunction.
I open my fortune cookie first and read: "There's a good chance of a romantic encounter soon."
Sweet, thanks fortune cookie! I read it for Laurie with a big grin on my face.
Then Laurie cracks open her fortune, and reads it for me: "Hope is the most precious treasure to a person." |

| new counting crows cd |
[Jan. 17th, 2008|10:09 am] |
well, after a really long time, counting crows seem to be coming out with a new album that actually consists of all new music (or at least mostly new music with a few old songs that never actually made it to a studio album like 1492) at the end of march.
i'm excited about this, but i'm very curious to see what it's gonna be like. they put 2 tracks up their site you can download free. i like the new version of 1492. i like i dream of michaelangelo. i guess its kind of neat/weird how the title is actually a lyric from another crows song and they work the original lyric in to this new song.
looking forward to hearing the rest of it for sure. |

This past weekend, I won my first ever fantasy football championship in my league with my local friends I met through Kickball. This was particularly sweet because this is a league with guys I see on a regular basis and I'll have some excellent bragging rights for the next year. My squad, the meta-named Dirty Euphemisms (as many teams in my league use a dirty euphemism for their team name), pulled off an impressive late-season including 3 straight playoff victories against the #5, #1, and #2 seeds to win the title, money, and the much-esteemed Porno trophy.
( In this post I shall chronicle the journey of the Dirty Euphs. ) |

| good split |
[Dec. 17th, 2007|11:09 am] |
my fantasy football teams split this weekend, 1 win, 1 loss (barring anything completely ridiculous happening today)
the team that won was the one in my money league, where by making the finals i think i'm at least getting some money, win or lose. and quite possibly facing off against the league commish and my good friend jeff, if he can hold onto his lead tonight.
the team that lost was the one with my online gaming friends that was just for fun. so while i don't get the bragging rights, i can stomach a loss there. |
